New Technology and Applications
With the
fast-paced and ever changing nature of energy
conservation projects, Brewer-Garrett is on the
cutting edge of new technologies. For example,
traditional solar power projects require expensive
photovoltaic panels connected to a facility’s main
electrical service, which generates electricity to
offset the total electrical consumption. Recently,
however, Brewer-Garrett has identified a number of
stand-alone solar technologies which, when combined
with recent innovations in battery technology, can
produce enough power to operate various types of
equipment in remote locations. Coupled with
wireless communication technology, many of these new
products require no electrical feed wiring. Thus,
not only is the purchase of electricity completely
eliminated, but an opportunity to highlight
alternative technologies in a number of locations on
one campus is possible.
Additionally,
Brewer-Garrett has been working with a number of
innovative technologies which elevate energy
efficiency for sanitary and office purposes. Many
of these new technologies are not only extremely
energy efficient, reducing both energy consumption
and waste generation, but also generate large
operational saving and may qualify a site for
additional LEED points. We have even identified
ways to reduce energy consumption and waste
production from day-to-day workplace functions.
With technology changing rapidly, Brewer-Garrett is
committed to staying in front of the curve in energy
conservation. |
