Opportunity

The Brewer-Garrett team provided support for Bridgestone’s first industrial building to apply for LEED certification. Systems commissioned included:

  • 50 large air handling systems
  • Four 300-ton chillers and related chilled water pumping
  • Cooling towers for process cooling
  • Three 250 hp steam boilers
  • Multiple exhaust systems
  • Building automation systems
  • Indoor air quality
  • Office comfort systems

Solution

Indoor air quality was a major hurdle for this heavy manufacturing facility. Our Commissioning team provided on-site VOC testing to document compliance levels throughout the facility.

Results

Commissioning on this project provided a second layer of verification for the high quantity of HVAC equipment required to meet Bridgestone’s needs. The outcome resulted in reduced punch list and call backs. Additionally, our successful commissioning support helped build a strong relationship between Brewer-Garrett, the architectural engineering firm Gresham, Smith and Partners, and a major corporation in Bridgestone.
