Central boiler plant design & install
Long-term rate structure operation & efficiency guarantee
Increased overall plant efficiency

BG partnered with the historic, faith-based teaching hospital, St. Vincent Charity Medical Center to modernize its aging central boiler plant and reduce long-term operational costs across a 500,000-square-foot healthcare campus. Originally built to meet outdated demand levels, the hospital’s nearly 40-year-old steam system was oversized, labor-intensive, and inefficient. Through a comprehensive design-build renovation, BG implemented a right-sized, high-efficiency boiler solution capable of delivering full-capacity steam within minutes while maintaining critical N+1 redundancy requirements for hospital operations. The project also included steam trap repairs and commissioning services to optimize overall plant performance. In addition to improving energy efficiency, the innovative delivery model transferred operational and maintenance responsibilities to BG, allowing the hospital to reduce staffing demands, minimize operational risk, and focus resources on patient care. Completed in just nine months, the project demonstrates how healthcare facilities can modernize critical infrastructure while improving reliability, efficiency, and long-term financial performance.
