Opportunity

The Brewer-Garrett team was engaged to provide commissioning services for Moseley Hall, a solid masonry building more than a century old, located on the campus of Bowling Green State University.

The systems commissioned included:

  • Air handling unit
  • Lab exhaust
  • Energy recovery pumping
  • Chilled water pumping
  • Hot water heating pumping systems
  • Building envelope
    • Interior insulation
    • Window and door openings
    • Infra-Red Scan and analysis
  • Building automation system – full integration to the campus network
  • Air balance oversight

The building envelope and insulation restoration presented a unique challenge.

Solution

Brewer-Garrett worked with the project’s design team to determine the optimum insulation and moisture barrier solution for Moseley Hall.

Results

Spray-applied foam and interior framing provide a superior R-20 wall system—without compromising the integrity and aesthetics of the stone exterior. Additionally, this project will achieve LEED Silver certification.
