Northeast Ohio Regional Sewer District: Phase II
Cleveland, OHDistrict-Wide Energy Conservation & Management Project
Following the success of earlier modernization efforts, the Northeast Ohio Regional Sewer District (NEORSD) selected BG to lead a campus-wide mechanical and energy upgrade across multiple wastewater treatment and administrative facilities throughout Northeast Ohio. The project included improvements at each of the Easterly, Westerly, and Southerly treatment main administrative buildings, but also the Southerly Thermal Conditioning Building and the George J. McMonagle (GJM) Building, which is the administrative headquarters for NEORSD. BG implemented a wide range of HVAC and infrastructure enhancements, including new rooftop units, VRF systems, energy recovery ventilators, upgraded boiler systems, and advanced building automation integration. By strategically reusing existing infrastructure where possible and incorporating energy-efficient technologies such as CO₂-based ventilation controls, BG reduced material costs while improving occupant comfort, operational reliability, and energy performance across the campus. The result is a more resilient and future-ready facilities network that supports the NEORSD’s critical public utility operations and long-term sustainability goals.
