Southeastern Correctional Institution
Lancaster, OHGuaranteed Energy Savings Project
BG worked with Southeastern Correctional Institution to deliver a turnkey, self-funding energy conservation project focused on improving efficiency, reliability, and long-term operational performance across its 1,400-acre campus. Serving both the Lancaster and Hocking Units, the project reduced energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions while helping the facility lower operational expenses and future capital costs. Key improvements included steam distribution optimization, tunnel piping insulation upgrades, and a large-scale LED lighting retrofit involving 3,199 linear fixtures. By repairing and replacing aging steam traps and insulating exposed piping, BG enhanced system performance, improved safety conditions, and reduced natural gas and water treatment costs. The project demonstrates how strategic infrastructure investments can modernize aging correctional facilities, improve staff operations, and create measurable energy savings through sustainable, high-performance building solutions.
